The information I learned about taxes and money can be applied to the Payroll specialization of Human Resource Management.

World of Business

This class covered topics such as marketing, management, and entreprenuership. We had a guest speaker from Junior Achievement of Lincoln who spoke to us about management and entrepreneurship. This class helped me gain a better understanding of business topics and chose which aspects of business I enjoy the most.

This class helped me learn more about the roles of management and how to make informed business decisions. The roleplay activities as a manager of a business peaked my interest in Human Resource Mangagement.

Take Charge

This class helped me learn about personal finance and explore my career interests, skills, and values. I got to experience a mock job interview and practice making a cover letter, resume, and fill out a job application.

Familiarity with these documents can be applied to evaluating employee submissions when undergoing the hiring process as a manager in Human Resources.

Intro to Psychology

This class covered the basics of psychology, including learning, growth, development, intelligence, perception, and motivation.

I can apply what I have learned about the different ways people percieve the world and learn new things towards the training and development process in Human Resources Management.

Public Speaking Fundamentals

This class is an online experience where I get to practice my public speaking skills in front of 6 people. This class is useful for a career in Human Resources because it helps me build up my communication skills and practice giving feedback to my peers.

I have learned the essential skill of how to create an outline for a speech and present with confidence, which are both needed to be successful in giving presentations as a Human Resources Manager.

This is essential when having to write plans, reports, or evaulations in the career of Human Resource Management.

E-Learning Writing Skills

In this class, I learned more about Business Communications and how to write a formal business email/letter. I learned about the level of professionalism required for each type communication method.

This class helped me learn how to communicate effectively in a professional setting, which is a helpful skill to establish before starting a career in Human Resource Management.
