The Impact

The following three PDF slideshows/documents present the projects I have taken to district and State FCCLA STAR competitions from 2021-2024. The first slideshow breaks down my tri-fold poster board into pieces so that you can read the information on the paper more clearly. There was not a bigger theme in mind for this project, as it was just meant to be a learning experience. The second project is a slideshow that I presented in front of the judges that explains my effort to get more students involved with attending State FCCLA. My thoughts were, "If people applied for a FCCLA award early in the school year, maybe they will feel more inclined to attend the State conference where they can receive the award on stage." The third project is focused on increasing membership in our FCCLA chapter through promotional and educational efforts. The 2022-2024 Projects have the overarching theme of increasing membership and participation in our FCCLA chapter, which may be related to the recruitment, training, and development aspects of a career in Human Resource Management.

Repurpose & Redesign 2021-2022

This tri-fold poster board displays pictures and documents from my Repurpose and Redesign STAR Project. The directions in the top right corner indicate where the information can be found on the poster board. I up-cycled clothing from Goodwill into a tote bag that was marketed for students at our school. I presented this project at the district level with my partner, An Nguyen, and we earned silver medals. She was not able to take the project to the State level with me, so I decided to stick with the project and take it to State by myself. This was my first competitive project in high school, and I learned a lot from this experience. This project built the foundation of my interest to compete in other activities at my school, such as FBLA and HOSA. 

National Programs in Action 2022-2023

I presented this slideshow at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference in April of 2023. I wanted to increase participation in FCCLA events by getting members to fill out an application for an award that they can receive at the State Leadership Conference. I created this slideshow on Canvas and earned silver in National Programs in Action!

Promote & Publicize FCCLA 2023-2024

This is my FCCLA STAR project for this 2023-2024 school year. Promote & Publicize FCCLA is the STAR event I was drawn to the most because I wanted to make one final effort to expand our chapter as much as possible during my last year in high school. Through school and community outreach events, as well as promotional efforts, we were able to increase our chapter membership from 8 to 20 members this school year! We earned gold in our event at districts in Seward, Nebraska on January 31, 2024!
