Intro to Psychology
For my semester final, I chose to write about the impact of Academic Motivation on teenagers who attend school. I chose an article to provide a summary and application about, and then chose to perform the other half of the project on myself. I recorded my progress over a week and implemented strategies to improve my academic motivation. The effects were measured on a scale ranging from Not Effective - Very Effective. This is a PDF sample of the Google Site I created for this project.
The topic of applying academic motivation strategies into the lives of students relates to Human Resource Management by providing support to employees who may be struggling with their motivation or overall mental wellness.
Service Learning Project
Government & Politics
The purpose of my Service Learning Project final for my Government & Politics class was to advocate for students' mental wellness over breaks away from school. As a high school student who is involved with extra curricular activities and has many other responsibilities outside of school, I understand how overwhelming it can be to spend your time away from school working on homework. My three Civic Actions were to first research about the impact of homework on teenagers' mental wellness, then interview a teacher from my school about how their opinions on homework, and finally contact a member of the Lincoln Public Schools Board of Education to receive their input on homework. The topic of advocating for the mental wellness of students relates to Human Resource Management by diving deeper into a problem in the workplace and gathering input to propose a solution.
