Scholarship Essay

This is an essay that I wrote for the UNO Alumni Association Scholarship. The prompt asks, "Why is it important to me to become an alumnus of UNO?" The scholarship description expresses interest in students who embody leadership in their high school careers, so I decided to relate the prompt to my leadership experiences. The word limit was 500 words maximum, and I wrote 492.

AP Language & Composition Piece

This is an excerpt from an essay I wrote for my AP Language and Composition class. My paper tells the story of how I took my FCCLA Repurpose and Redesign STAR project to the state level by myself, where I presented and competed in a school activity for the first time. I  was competing at a level higher than I qualified for because my previous partner, a junior in high school, qualified for Level 3. As a sophomore, I only qualified for Level 2, so I went into my first competition with a challenge. The purpose of this essay was to describe an instance where I have experienced success.

FCCLA State Project Speech

This paper was written with the intent of being memorized and performed at the FCCLA State conference in 2023. My goal for this project was to increase participation in FCCLA events through helping chapter members win awards at State. I supplied the necessary papers for our chapter and made a slideshow explaining how to fill out the application, and then once they filled it out, I copied the information onto a digital form and submitted them to the FCCLA online portal. I was able to help five members get recognized at the state level for their active participation in FCCLA's National Programs!
